Meet Helen Bullen
About me
Hi, I am Helen Bullen. I am an osteopath with a large multi award winning clinic called Fine Fettle Multi-healthcare and I am a business coach specialising in helping therapists working under my own name Helen Bullen.
My values are to show therapists and other client based businesses how they can have a profitable business which they love. I teach therapists simple marketing skills they need to use as well as what they don’t. Everyone can have a therapy business that is profitable but many don’t through lack of effective marketing skills. I cut through the noise of marketing and show therapists what really works. My mission is to help more therapists create their dream business and stop so many giving up due to low client numbers along the way.
I am an osteopath, sports masseur and an experienced clinic owner. I am a member of the General Osteopathic Council Investigating Committee overseeing complaints from the public.
I am a qualified lecturer and I still manage to spend time overseas as an external examiner for undergraduate courses. Over the years I have taught a range of subjects and therapies including Swedish massage, sports massage, sports therapy and osteopathy. My passion is differential diagnosis and pathology.
My story is long but in brief I know the struggle of starting your own therapy business. I started in my small clinic, living in a small flat with a bed on the floor (my kids in the bedroom) a bucket as a fridge and a small microwave to cook on. No maintenance from a divorce and for many months a lot of tears trying to make ends meet. I worked my way up from the desperation of trying to pay bills to a being successful owner of more than one business including my own multi-award winning clinic.
If I can do it, so can you. I have really been there, done that and got the T-shirt! In fact I am still wearing that T-shirt.
3 things you don’t know…
Fun and odd
I am a secret singer. I have singing lessons and have sung in a band on a few occasions in public (and got pretty good feedback). A passion I currently hide but watch this space because apparently I am quite good!
Most dear
Most dear are my days playing Division 1 volleyball are very special to me. I played for one of the top teams in the country, in the top league for over 20 years winning the league and cup finals on multiple occasions. My Practice Manager is one of my best friends as well as a former team mate. There are not many clinics that have a player from the England volleyball hall of fame as their Practice Manager!
Super power
I am a creative! My clinic name, logo, ideas for my business and all the things that have led me to success were ideas that woke me in the night. My magic as a creative is being able to find solutions to problems in an instant. I regularly come up with solutions for therapists during mentoring that I have not even thought to do in my own clinic.
